MarioMax Salon Holiday Party

posted in: Event Showcase 0

Last week we had the opportunity to transform the Oakland County Boat Club from its dated clubhouse look to a club like atmosphere. The boat club located on Sylvan Lake has history dating back to 1917. With great views of the lake, it is hard not to love. The only downside is the age of the building.

We were tasked with turning this lump of coal into a diamond. When meeting with the owner of the salon, i expressed my concerns with the room. My final thought was, “It’s like putting lipstick on a pig”. Apparently I spoke my thoughts and in turn was assured if anyone could do it, I could.

Working with a limited budget, I went to work transforming the room. I knew that the club was a great place to hang out and had amazing drink prices. But I also knew the cons associated with a building that is almost 100 years old. I also knew that the salon owner who was also a member, wanted to bring the business to the club.

The day of the party came and my staff arrived to make the transformation. We started out by wrapping the entire room with black drape floor to ceiling. We also wrapped the columns in the center of the room. Once we completed that, we brought in a bunch of cocktail tables low and high. We covered all the tables with black matte satin tables linens. The chairs were covered in black spandex. You may be wondering why everything is black, we wanted to change it up completely. We then brought in a couple dozen LED uplights to illuminate the room. Last, we topped off all the tables with candles. Once we finished the room, we stepped back and looked at the transformation. It was amazing to say the least. The club manager as well as several board members came up and could not believe that this was the same room.

Once the party started, I stepped back and watched the guests as they trickled in. Many had never been to the club, so they did not know what we started with. Others who were familiar with the club were amazed. The best part of the night was seeing the smile on the client’s face. I was so happy to be part of this event. We hope we have a chance to do more events at the boat club in the future.

Ethan’s Bar Mitzvah Celebration

This year we kicked off the Bar/Bat Mitzvah season on August 29th. We were so fortunate to be part of Ethan’s big day. When I say big day, I mean BIG DAY! The party was held at Knollwood Country Club in West Bloomfield, Michigan. I love working with Lauren Jackson from Leave it to Lauren as she did an incredible job pulling all of this together. Working with Lauren and the client to make a vision come true is always awesome. The décor was provided by Debbie LeClaire from Dimensional Designs. Debbie is the rock star of décor. The DJ/MC’s were from Star Trax and as always, kept the dance floor packed full of fun. Our team at Fabulous Events brought in all the pipe and drape, table linens, chiavari chairs and napkins. Once again, Justin Munter took some amazing photos of the event and we thank him for sharing with us.

We started out draping the entire the entire room with over 450′ linear feet of our white spandex panels. In addition to that, we put of horizontal drape for the bar back as well as the backdrop for the DJ. We brought in our clear chiavari chairs for the adult tables and silver chiavari chairs for the kids tables. Lauren even brought in some black lacquer tables and we used our silver glamour linens on the balance of the tables. VTI put flat screens all around the room to allow everyone to see the video. All in all, this event was super fun to be part of.

Rachel’s Bat Mitzvah Celebration

posted in: Event Showcase 0

Last month we had the opportunity to work with the Chaika family for their Daughter’s Bat Mitzvah. The event was held at Edgewood Country Club in Commerce Township, Michigan. This event was just amazing from every aspect. The event planner was Lauren Jackson from Leave it to Lauren and she did an incredible job pulling all of this together. The décor was provided by Debbie LeClaire from Dimensional Designs. Debbie never ceases to amaze me with her lavish décor. The DJ/MC’s were from Star Trax and as always, kept the dance floor packed full of fun. Our team at Fabulous Events brought in all the LED uplights as well as the pipe and drape, table linens, chair covers and napkins. We are truly grateful to Collective Image Photography for providing us the awesome photos from the event.

Rachel was called to The Torah on June 13th as a Bat Mitzvah. What a special time in ones life, and again, we are thankful for being part of it. We started out draping the entire 240′ of wall space in the room with our white spandex panels. We added 40 LED lights to the room to bring in all the colors to match the linens. We covered the hi tops with white spandex and lit them up from underneath. The colors in the room were breathtaking when you entered the room. Debbie brought in oodles of fun décor to bring this swim party themed event to life. After the meal, it was up to Star Trax to bring it on, and did they!  The entire night was perfect from beginning to end.
